Stepparent and Adult Adoption Document Preparation in Las Vegas
Yuri Notary offers adoption document preparation for uncontested stepparent adoptions and adult adoptions in Clark County. These adoptions make a family relationship legal and can include a name change.
How Stepparent and Adult Adoption Works in Nevada
Adoptions in Nevada are governed by NRS Chapter 127 and are filed in the Eighth Judicial District Court, Family Division. A stepparent adoption usually requires the consent of the other birth parent or a separate order terminating that parent’s rights.
Adult adoptions require the written consent of the adult being adopted and are often simpler.
How I Help With Stepparent and Adult Adoption Document Preparation
- Preparing the petition, consents and proposed decree at your direction
- Including a name change request when needed
- Organizing birth certificates and marriage records
- Filing assistance and copies for your records
Contested adoptions, agency adoptions, international adoptions and cases where the other parent will not consent should be handled by an attorney. I cannot give advice on eligibility or parental rights.
