Record Sealing Document Preparation in Las Vegas
Yuri Notary offers record sealing document preparation for people in Clark County who want to move past an old arrest or conviction. A sealed record is treated as if it never happened for most employment, housing and licensing purposes.
How Record Sealing Works in Nevada
Nevada law sets waiting periods that depend on the type of offense and the date the case ended. Cases that were dismissed, declined for prosecution or ended in acquittal can often be sealed right away under NRS 179.255. Convictions are sealed under NRS 179.245 once the waiting period has passed and all sentence terms are complete.
The process usually starts with your Nevada criminal history report, then a petition to the court where each case was handled. Records from different courts may need separate petitions.
How I Help With Record Sealing Document Preparation
- Preparing the petition, proposed order and supporting documents at your direction
- Organizing your case list from your criminal history report
- Formatting documents for the correct court (District, Justice or Municipal)
- Filing assistance and copies for your records
I cannot tell you whether you are eligible or which cases qualify. If your situation is unclear, the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada holds free record sealing clinics, or you can consult an attorney.
